Welcome to the GEM Group, where we believe that ‘seeing is understanding’ and we start our understanding from the atoms up!

We are an interdisciplinary group driven to help innovate the next generation of functional materials through detailed characterization by advanced electron microscopy. We develop and deploy new experimental and analytical techniques to explore a wide range of novel materials starting from their fundamental atomic building blocks — check out the Research page to learn more about some of our current projects.
